Overall this class was a pretty interesting. I've learned that there is so much more to journalism than people really think. In this class, we learned what an actual journalist did and how they did. My favorite thing we wrote was a profile. Mainly this was my favorite because I got to write about my sister.
Another thing I liked about this class was the fact, we were't really judged on how we wrote and what we thought, but on what we thought. Also I really liked how we did fish bowl assignment. I liked how we voiced our opinions on what the farmers did and what they should do.
In my opinion, I believe that this was one of my favorite classes to go too. Not only because the teacher was nice and very easy to get along with but the people in the class made it the whole reason of why it was fun.
Goodbye to this class and to this blog. Class of 2015. :)

Michael Sam Drafted by the St. Louis Rams
On May 10th, Michael Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams. People weren't angry that this openly gay man got drafted, but they were angry about what he did after he found out he was drafted. Michael Sam publicly kissed his boyfriend, Vito Cammisano, on television after he found out he was drafted by the Rams.
People couldn't believe that ESPN allowed this on national television where children are watching. "I'm sorry but that Michael Sam is no bueno for doing that on national tv," former Super Bowl champion Derrick Ward tweeted. "Man U got little kids lookin at the draft. I can't believe ESPN even allowed that to happen," he added. By saying any of this Ward could be said to be anti-gay or against all gays. People don't understand how historical this moment in time is. By Michael Sam being the first NFL player to come out before the NFL draft and nationally kissing his boyfriend on national television after he found out he was finally drafted by someone makes him the most known football player. He knows how to be professional so don't give him crap for people able to stand up for what he believes in and show how much he loves his boyfriend. It doesn't matter how much people feel uncomfortable about this situation. It's happening whether they like it or not.

Kayla McAlister Rugby Player Used To Hate Practicing?
Kayla McAlister is one of women's best rugby players of all time. She has been playing since she was little with her brother and now is aiming to emulate him. You would think she always loved rugby since she's been playing it for so long, but when she was younger she used to hide under her bed to avoid training with her father and her brother. This doesn't mean she hated practicing or even hated the game rugby, but she didn't like practicing much.
McAlister is now wanting to set her goals to going to the Olympics and winning gold. Her dad, Charlie, former rugby league professional who played in England and Australia, that spotted New Zealand's Go4Gold campaign to lure young women players to the sevens ranks with the Olympics in mind, with this he gave his daughter a nudge to follow in her family's rugby roots.
The rugby star recalls, "I was terrible when I was younger," she admits. "Luke was a bit older than me so he and Dad were always out training.Dad would try to get me to train with them but I didn't want to. I wanted to hang out with my friends and that would have taken me away from my friends. So I tried to get out of it however I could, like hiding under my bed so they wouldn't find me."
It is interesting how this star wasn't really into this sport at the beginning, but now she wants to go to the Olympics and everything.

LA Clippers Owner a Racist?
Most people have been talking about the LA Clippers owner,Donald Sterling, and how he made racist remarks while speaking to his girlfriend. Donald Sterling said, "Don't bring black people to my games." These remarks are making the NBA investigate Sterling.
One of the NBA spokesman made a comment about this situation saying the comments made by Sterling were "disturbing and offensive." If an NBA spokesman thinks this about these comments, what will the people investigating this situation think?
Many people like Michael Jordan are saying things like, "I will never go to a Clippers game as long as Donald Sterling is the owner." He also said Sterling's comments were "a black eye for the NBA" and that he felt bad that friends such as Doc Rivers and Clippers point guard Chris Paul who work for Sterling. You would think that Sterling would know better than to make these comments, but he still makes them thinking he's above the situation because of his money. Many people won't be going to a Clippers game because of the owner and are following Michael Jordan's opinion.
Another comment was made by the former Clipper's guard, Baron Davis, wrote on his Twitter saying that this discrimination has been going on for a long time. It's interesting how no one has reported these remarks if they have been going on for a long time. People are thinking too highly of him because he has a lot of money. They tend to believe that the more money a person has the more you can get away with. This makes you think: is there really any justice in the world?

Bubba Watson: Average Man
During the day both Spieth and Watson were going in tied. Spieth immediately went up by two by the third hole.On the par-3 fourth came what was surely a Spieth spear through the heart -- a hole-out from the bunker for a birdie. Except Bubba matched his miracle with a big-stone birdie of his own.
On the par-3 sixth, Spieth bared his teeth again, hitting it to kick-in distance. Except Bubba matched it with a sensational two of his own. Then Bubba had some daggers of his own, birdies on Nos. 8 and 9 compared to Spieth's two bogeys. As he walked off the ninth green, Bubba and his buttoned-up collar had buttoned up a 2-shot lead that would hold up the rest of the day, despite Bubba's attempts to give it away on 15.

The tigers played their opening day game with the royals on Monday March 31st. This was a very interesting game because at first the tigers were losing by two in the 5th inning but in the 7th inning they ended up tying the game. In the 9th inning they ended up winning by one which made the game end at 4-3 with the tigers winning.

Disappointment For Both Michigan Teams
Many different people from Michigan were very disappointed that their team did not win their games this weekend. Michigan was so close, Kentucky 75 and Michigan 72, by three little points. Just one basket and they would have been tied for the game. This game was very disappointed for the Wolverines.
As for state, they lost by 6 points. This was a horrible game to watch because they were up by 4 until the second half happened and they kind of gave up at the point. It sucks to know both of our home teams are our of the NCA tournament but at least Wisconsin from the the all ten conference team is still in the running for the win. Lets go Badgers.
